Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in central Greece, an area of sandstone rock pillars with monasteries built on top of them. Now, six out of the 24 once monasteries are operating and are easily accessible to tourists compared to old times. Pictures from a hiking tour in Meteora paths:

What fabulous photos! I have added this place to my ‘to visit’ list, it’s getting long so I’m starting to think a driving tour of main land Greece should be planned for 2017 as next year is already looking full. Thanks for the inspiration. X
